Dr. Brian Coats

Dr. Brian Coats has been a trusted part of the Longmont community for over 25 years, providing exceptional dentistry for every patient.

He graduated from Longmont High School, eventually earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Colorado State University. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry, one of the top dental schools in the Midwest.

Dr. Brian has always felt called into service, whether it’s in the community or abroad. After graduation, this call led him to join the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served before returning home to build a dental practice grounded in compassion, science, and a commitment to excellence.

Today, he regularly demonstrates his commitment to the community via outreach through The Sunshine Club. For Dr. Coats, dentistry is a way to give back and make a lasting impact.

As a lifelong learner, Dr. Brian has become an active member of multiple dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Boulder County Dental Association. He believes in the power of education and has dedicated countless hours to refining his skills.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Coats enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Whether it’s hiking, boating, golfing, skiing, or relaxing on the beach, he values experiences that bring people together.

Dr. Kevin Coats

A proud Longmont native, Dr. Kevin Coats is continuing a legacy of dentistry that spans three generations! Inspired by his father and grandfather, Dr. Kevin pursued his passion by earning a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, followed by a Master’s in Oral Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Creighton University School of Dentistry.

During his advanced studies, he served as a teaching assistant in anatomy and histology courses and conducted research to improve dental education. Today, Dr. Kevin blends clinical expertise with heartfelt care, guided by Christian values and a deep respect for every patient’s needs.

Dr. Kevin Coats’ goal is to deliver high-quality, personalized care that helps everyone he serves feel empowered and confident about their oral health decisions. Patients know him for his compassion, communication skills, and dedication to doing what’s best for their long-term oral health.

Outside the office, Dr. Kevin enjoys hiking, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Brooke, and their daughter, Chloe. He’s proud to give back to the community that raised him and looks forward to helping Longmont families continue to smile for years to come.

Why Are You Looking for a Dentist Near Lyons?

You’re always welcome to get in touch with our friendly team if you’d like to know more about our services. Sometimes, though, you just want the convenience of being able to read a short description! Click on the photos below, and that’s exactly what you’ll find.

I Need a Checkup & Cleaning

Biannual checkups and cleanings are a great way to prevent oral conditions and maintain your dental health. We’ll start your appointment off with a checkup, which involves a visual exam, oral cancer screening, and in some cases, X-rays. Your dentist near Lyons will report their findings to you, then let our hygienist take over for your cleaning. After removing harmful plaque and tartar from your smile, you’ll be free to go about the rest of your day.

I Want to Enhance My Smile

Many of our patients in Lyons have wanted to correct one dental flaw or another. Cosmetic dentistry is all about enhancing your smile, whether that means concealing stubborn stains, straightening out crooked teeth, or covering up surface cracks. If you’re not satisfied with the appearance of your smile, you might be interested in dental veneers, teeth whitening, or Invisalign clear aligners.

I Have a Cavity/Broken Tooth

Cavities and broken teeth aren’t exactly rare, but they’re never fun to experience, either. Our team will make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during your treatment and restore your smile with quality tooth-colored materials. Fillings are often the best solution for cavities, while crowns are used to protect weakened teeth from further damage.

I Am Missing One Or More Teeth

We’re sorry to hear that – missing teeth can be distressing. The good news is that your dentist in Lyons can provide you with seamless, durable prosthetics. Dentures are a classic and time-tested solution, and can be configured to replace an entire arch of teeth or multiple gaps scattered across your smile. Bridges are perfect for patients with one or more empty sockets in a row. Dental implants, meanwhile, can be used as a singular tooth replacement or combined with other restorations for superior strength and stability.

I Am Worried About Bleeding Gums

That’s completely understandable. Seeing blood anywhere can be quite alarming, and your gums are probably the place you least expected to find it. A red, swollen, or receding gumline could mean you have gum disease, in which case it’s best to receive treatment promptly. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, your dentist in Lyons may recommend a scaling and root planing or antibiotic therapy. Either way, the goal is to eliminate harmful bacteria from your smile.

I Am Nervous/Scared Of The Dentist

Many people are, and we don’t judge anyone for it. We’d much rather focus on helping you feel more at ease during your visit. Your dentist in Lyons offers both nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation. It’s best to request a consultation so we can determine which option is best for you, but generally speaking, nitrous oxide is a mild sedative suitable for children and adults, while oral conscious can provide a deeper sense of relaxation.

I Need Sleep Apnea Treatment

Didn’t think a dentist could help you sleep better, did you? We might not be the first health professional you would think of for sleep apnea treatment near Lyons, but we do provide effective solutions! The most common cause of sleep apnea is an airway obstruction; your sleep dentist can use their knowledge about oral anatomy to create a customized appliance to wear in your mouth as you rest. Depending on the severity of your case, it can be used alone or with CPAP to help you breathe easy and sleep soundly.

I Am in Pain & Need Help

Give us a call right away! Most of the time, we’re able to see patients experiencing a dental emergency on a same-day basis. Oral discomfort could mean a variety of things, so it’s best to get a diagnosis as soon as possible. Once our team identifies the cause of your pain, we’ll provide prompt treatment and help you every step of the way.

How We Make Dentistry Affordable

Our team at Coats Dental Group wants you to have a calm and comfortable experience at our office. That’s next to impossible if you’re worried about the cost! That’s why we welcome several financial solutions. You can click on the icons below for further details, but you’re always welcome to give us a call, too.

We Welcome Dental Insurance

Many dental insurance plans have a 100-80-50 coverage structure. If that’s the case for you, then 100% of the cost of preventive care and between 50% and 80% of the cost of restorative care is covered. Of course, there are often waiting periods, annual maximums, and other red tape that need to be considered, so it’s helpful to have someone who works with dental insurance daily to help. That’s where we come in! We’re proud to be in-network with Delta Dental Premier plans, and we also accept out-of-network providers.

We Happily Accept Flexible Financing

Don’t have dental insurance? That’s okay! We also work with CareCredit, which is a trusted third-party financier. All you need to do is sign up for the payment plan that fits your budget best. Then, you can break up the total cost of the preventive, restorative, or cosmetic dental care you need into smaller chunks. One of the best parts is that they offer several payment plans with little-to-no interest attached!

We Have an In-House Membership Plan

Another great option for uninsured patients is our in-house membership plan. Joining comes with several cost-saving perks, including covered preventive care. There also aren’t rules and restrictions that will prevent you from ever using your savings, like yearly deductibles and maximums. If this sounds like the financial solution you’ve been looking for, then give us a call so we can provide you with further details!

We Extend Periodic Special Offers

Throughout the year, we offer periodic specials, like a free Invisalign consultation or a $59 limited exam and X-ray. That way, our patients can get the top-tier care they deserve at a more affordable price. If you are interested in learning about the promotions we’re currently running, visit the “Special Offers” page on our website. You can also ask a friendly member of our team for details when you call to schedule your appointment.
