Dr. Brian Coats

Dr. Coats is an accomplished dentist with over 25 years of experience helping improve his patients’ lives by enhancing their dental health. He’s known for his uniquely wonderful approach, and prioritizes building trusting, lasting relationships so he can tailor treatments to their individual needs.

As a father, Dr. Coats has always enjoyed helping others take better care of themselves, so it seemed only natural that he pursue a career in oral healthcare. He is passionate about preventing potential issues before they can develop, and gladly goes above and beyond to help people of all ages build and maintain the healthiest, happiest versions of their smiles.

After graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Coats went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Creighton University School of Dentistry.

Today, he also actively participates with several respected organizations to remain current with the latest treatments and technology, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Boulder County Dental Association, and the Longmont Rotary Club. He’s also a proud veteran of the United States Navy and regularly donates time to The Sunshine Club annually, which provides dental exams to kids at Longmont-area schools.

Outside of the office, Dr. Brian Coats enjoys spending free time with friends and family. Whether they’re staying active with outdoor activities like boating or water skiing or traveling, he feels blessed to have the opportunity to do things he loves with people he cares about.

Dr. Kevin Coats

Dr. Kevin Coats followed in his father’s footsteps and pursued a career in dentistry because he saw the difference that quality oral healthcare could make in people’s lives. His passion for patient care and strong Christian values help him build lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect, so you can have faith that your smile is in good hands.

Dr. Coats initially attended Colorado State University for his undergraduate degree before earning his master’s in Oral Biology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Creighton University School of Dentistry. During graduate school, he spent time helping teach courses in head and neck anatomy and histology, and also researched ways to enhance the integrity of dental education for his master’s thesis. This provided a unique perspective that helps guide the phenomenal services he provides.

When he’s not at work helping to protect and preserve family’s smiles, he’s most likely spending time with his beloved wife, Brooke, whom he met at Colorado State University. They have a beautiful daughter, Chloe, and enjoy hiking, skiing, and playing golf together. Dr. Coats also enjoys giving back to the Longmont community, where he was born and raised and has spent most of his life.

I love the dentists at Coats Dental Group. Dr. Kevin especially was great and took the time to actually explain things in a way that’s easy to understand. I recommend them to everyone.

I Need a Checkup & Cleaning

Brushing and flossing your teeth at home are the best way to protect your smile on a daily basis. But even the most comprehensive at-home oral hygiene routine doesn’t quite go far enough. That’s why the American Dental Association recommends you visit your dentist in Niwot every six months for your regular, preventive cleanings and exams. At these visits, your teeth will be expertly cleaned and polished, and your mouth will be examined for any abnormalities that could indicate cavities, infection, gum disease, and even oral cancer.

I Have a Cavity/Broken Tooth

Cavities and broken teeth can be painful and make everyday things like eating and smiling with confidence a challenge. Worse yet, if left untreated, they have the potential to wreak havoc on nearby teeth and eventually could require an extraction. Your dentist in Niwot can repair and restore the appearance and function of damaged teeth, so you can once again enjoy all the benefits of a complete, healthy, pain-free smile!

I Am Missing One Or More Teeth

I Am Worried About Bleeding Gums

How We Strive to Make Dental Care Affordable

Sometimes, patients who are overdue for their six-month checkup, are struggling with a painful toothache, or want to enhance their smiles with Invisalign are hesitant to schedule an appointment because they are worried about the cost. If that’s the case for you, then we recommend getting in touch with our team at Coats Dental Group of Longmont so we can discuss the different financial solutions that are available. You can also click on the icons below to learn a little more about them in the meantime!

We Welcome Dental Insurance

Do you have dental insurance? If so, we have good news for you: we accept payment from any insurance company, and we’re currently in-network with Delta Dental Premier. As a result, we can help you maximize your available benefits to the fullest! So, don’t hesitate to provide our dental team near Niwot with your membership information. That way, we can review the fine print, explain your coverage, and help keep your out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum.

We Happily Accept Flexible Financing

If you don’t have dental insurance, but you’re interested in making the cost of the preventive, restorative, or cosmetic dentistry that you need more affordable, you should consider CareCredit. This trusted third-party financier offers a variety of payment plans. As a result, you don’t have to pay for the entire cost in one lump sum. Instead, you can break up the total cost into smaller, more manageable chunks that don’t put a strain on your budget.

We Have an In-House Membership Plan

Another great option for uninsured patients is to join our in-house membership plan! Our adult plan includes several cost-saving benefits, including one limited exam and a 10% discount on composite fillings, CBCT Scans, and occlusal guards. Plus, there aren’t frustrating restrictions, like waiting periods. If you’d like to learn more about this financial solution, including how to sign up, then call our dental office near Niwot.

We Extend Periodic Special Offers

Finally, you can make the dental care that you need more affordable by taking advantage of our periodic specials, like a free Invisalign consultation. You can visit the “Special Offers” page on our website for a list of our current promotions. You can also ask a member of our team for more information when you call to schedule your appointment. That way, they can provide further details, answer any questions you have, and apply the applicable discounts to your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find the best place to get dental work done?

Building and maintaining the happiest, healthiest version of your smile can be an incredibly personal matter, and it’s only natural to want to find the best provider near Niwot to help you achieve your goals.

If you’re struggling to pick a provider, it might help to take a few moments to identify your main priorities regarding your dental health. For example, are you seeking services just for yourself, or do you also have a family needing care? Are there certain procedures you anticipate wanting or needing? Do you require someone who’s in-network with your insurance? Answering these questions can help you find a dental office that checks off all the right boxes.

How much does a routine dental checkup and cleaning cost near Niwot, CO?

Most patients in the area can expect to spend between $150 and $350 for a standard dental visit, but the cost can vary significantly based on your circumstances. For instance, if you have insurance, you might not owe anything out of pocket because many policies cover up to 100% of routine care.

However, if our team finds issues, such as cavities or gum disease, requiring treatment, then you’ll also be responsible for paying for the necessary procedures.

What if I’m too anxious to visit the dentist?

Plenty of people get a little nervous when it comes time to sit in the dentist’s chair, but if you’re overly anxious, you might avoid everything from routine exams to more complex repairs, which can harm your dental health.

Our compassionate providers near Niwot want you to feel calm and comfortable throughout your visit, regardless of the reason for it. That’s why we offer both nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation as a prescription pill that you swallow, which can help you feel relaxed and at ease.

Are there ways to help make dental care more affordable?

Dental insurance can often be a simple and effective way to help lower out-of-pocket expenses for everything from standard dental services to more complex repairs and restorations. Our office near Niwot is in-network with Delta Dental Premier, though we are also happy to work with other plans that might offer applicable benefits.

However, we also understand that not all patients carry a policy, and we don’t want your current financial situation to keep you from undergoing the needed or desired procedures. As a result, we also gladly accept flexible payment plans through CareCredit. If your application is approved, these low- to no-interest options allow you to divide the cost of your services into more manageable installments, making it easier on your budget.
